Acrylic on Canvas | 2025
A bold acrylic painting that reimagines the iconic Ghostface figure from Scream, giving it a raw, emotional twist. With heart-shaped eye sockets bleeding red and a look of exaggerated anguish, the familiar mask becomes more than just a symbol of horror—it becomes a metaphor for emotional vulnerability and societal deflection. The bleeding heart eyes and the expressive hand gesture evoke heartbreak and silent screams—feelings that are often dismissed or villainized when exposed. The use of bold primary colors—electric blue, blood red, and stark white—adds to the tension and contrast, symbolizing emotional extremes and unresolved conflict. This piece is important to me because it transforms fear into empathy. It’s about the pain of being misunderstood, the weight of carrying hard truths, and the consequence of vulnerability in a world that often prefers masks over authenticity.Through this piece, I wanted to explore the duality of the villain and the victim—and how sometimes, they are one and the same.
Each print is a faithful reproduction of the original hand-painted canvas, capturing the texture, color, and attitude of the piece as closely as possible in print form.
